Former Everton defender complains he can’t afford a private jet after retiring

Remember John Heitinga?
His experiences in the Premier League with Everton and Fulham won't be remembered too fondly after a fairly decent career with Ajax.
He also became only the fifth player in history to be sent off in a World Cup final after persistently hacking down the Spain team in South Africa in 2010.
But a decent career at the top that spanned nearly 15 years clearly isn't enough.
Heitinga is now facing ridicule after revealing he is mourning his inability to afford private jets and stylists following his retirement in 2016.
"When I was still playing football we had a lot more money coming in. Our expenditures were likewise. Now we are trying to adjust," he told 1limburg.
"In the past, we sometimes chartered a private jet, but we don't do that now.
"On holidays we do still rent a fancy villa, but you get different categories of 'fancy'."
His wife Charlotte-Sophie added: "We are trying to get used to it. Sometimes it is difficult."
It really is a tough life, isn't it?
