That’s according to ex-Gunners man and pundit Charlie Nicholas.

The 28-year-old is Arsenal’s keeper for the Champions League this season and boss Arsene Wenger confirmed yesterday he would once again be in between the sticks.

Some have criticised the decision to play the Colombian but Nicholas says it’s only right as he feels 34-year-old Cech’s form has dipped.

"I was as thrilled as anybody when Arsenal signed Petr Cech, he was a top-class goalkeeper,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT.

"For me he’s starting to look a little bit iffy, he’s not quite as agile as what I have seen before.

"He doesn’t really come for the crosses when Arsenal are not good at defending crosses.

"So I don’t really have an issue with that [bringing in Ospina].

"I think that’s just the way it’s always been planned.

"If Ospina plays really well tonight I would be tempted to think that Wenger might say well maybe it is time to give him a run.”

Cech isn’t the only Arsenal star to have come under scrutiny weeks.

Mesut Ozil’s form has dipped since the start of the season and ex-Chelsea ace Tony Cascarino believes he too should be dropped ahead of tonight’s match in Munich.
