Barnsley vs Huddersfield Town - Barnsley midfielder Josh Scowen to sit out derby clash with Huddersfield

Barnsley midfielder Josh Scowen will play no part in his side's home game against Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield.

Scowen has missed the last two games due to a sprained ankle and head coach Paul Heckingbottom must decide whether to retain George Moncur in his starting line-up or recall Alex Mowatt.

Mowatt, sent off on his Reds debut, made his second appearance for the club off the bench in last week's home defeat to Brighton after serving a three-game ban.

Defender Aidy White (pelvis) and winger Saidy Janko (thigh) remain sidelined, while defender Adam Jackson, plus wingers Adam Hammill and Ryan Williams are pushing for recalls.

Huddersfield midfielder Izzy Brown is hoping to shake off the illness which forced him out of the midweek win against Reading.

Midfielder Brown, on loan from Chelsea, complained of blurred vision shortly before half-time and was replaced by Jack Payne.

Jonathan Hogg is still sidelined with the groin strain which has kept him out of the last two matches, while fellow midfielder Kasey Palmer (hamstring) and winger Sean Scannell (ankle) are still unavailable.

The Terriers, four points off the top two, are chasing a seventh straight league win.
