Shouting match in the Bernabeu tunnel followed Real Madrid's Las Palmas draw

Neither side were in the mood to celebrate after Real Madrid's 3-3 draw at home to Las Palmas on Wednesday night and a frank exchange of views unfolded in the tunnel post-match.

As the visiting players entered their Estadio Santiago Bernabeu dressing room, an Amarillos player made a loud crash as he kicked over a bag of Las Palmas equipment on the other side of the door.

That prompted a voice from the back of the tunnel to call out: "Hey, be careful with that, do not touch it!"

The complaint emanated from Real delegate Chendo, who was told by other players from the away side that he had only kicked over Las Palmas' equipment, which in turn led to Madrid players rushing over to defend Chendo.

What followed was a vocal trading of insults across both clubs' players, which was only ended when referee David Fernandez Borbalan reached the incident, although he was unable to determine the protagonists.

"In the tunnel there were loud voices," recalled the official to reporters. "Alerted by it, we left our dressing room to find players and staff from both teams arguing.

"We weren't able to identify exactly who started it as they stopped once they noticed us.

"Then both teams went into their dressing rooms without major consequence."

Elsewhere on the night, a reported row between Nacho Fernandez and Las Palmas coach Quique Setien in the tunnel was, in fact, limited to an exchange of views on the touchline after the visiting boss kicked a ball back onto the pitch after it had gone out for a throw-in.
