Oxford United vs Sheffield United - Oxford quartet set for fitness tests

Posted Tuesday, March 07, 2017 by PA

Oxford are waiting on the fitness of four key players ahead of Sheffield United's visit.

Kane Hemmings, Rob Hall, Curtis Nelson and Chris Maguire are all rated as 50-50.

The quartet will face a late assessment before boss Michael Appleton picks his squad.

Should none be passed fit, he is likely to persist with the same team that on Saturday lost 2-0 at home to Bristol Rovers.

Sheffield United striker James Hanson has been given the all-clear to feature after being forced out of Saturday's draw at Rochdale.

Hanson was withdrawn early in the second half at Spotland after sustaining an ankle injury, but has been passed fit by medical staff.

Manager Chris Wilder has no other new injury or suspension problems as the Blades bid to extend their five-point lead at the top.

Midfielder Harry Chapman has returned from parent club Middlesbrough after recovering from an ankle injury.
