Icelandic baby records broken EXACTLY nine months after famous England win

As England fans we've got to the stage now where we're almost refusing to admit it even happened.

But the 2-1 defeat at Iceland that saw Roy Hodgson's desperate charges humiliatingly dumped out of Euro 2016 in the last 16 really did take place.

Understandably, the Icelandic minnows regard the victory as the greatest moment in their footballing history - and it sounds like they really celebrated.

That's because, according to reports in Iceland over the weekend, a record number of epidurals were being demanded in hospital maternity departments exactly nine months on from that famous night.

In other words - a lot of babies are being born or are due imminently.

An epidural is an injection of pain-killing drugs into the small of the back, most commonly applied to treat pain during child birth.

And it appears Iceland is experiencing a bit of a baby boom as a result of their national side's famous antics.

We've desperately tried to etch it from our memories, but this story really did bring a smile to our faces.
