Arsene Wenger makes shock claim over Alexis Sanchez's contract offer from Arsenal
ARSENE WENGER is sticking to his guns that Alexis Sanchez will sign a new Arsenal contract.

Talks are on hold until the end of the season with Alexis Sanchez, 28, demanding a pay rise to £250,000 a week.
But Wenger says finances will dictate whether his star striker ends his stand-off with his contract expiring next summer. "I believe that he basically wants to stay at the club and it's down to finding an agreement with his agent," said Wenger.
"The players have to see if they're happy at the club. Finances are also involved in that."

Despite the on-going speculation, Sanchez will start at Crystal Palace on Monday as Arsenal bid to make up ground to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
There has never been much love lost between Palace manager Sam Allardyce and Wenger, but the Englishman has jumped to his defence.
Unhappy Gunners fans want Wenger out after a season that has fallen below expectations but Allardyce said: "The problem with some of the fans is expectation and unfortunately for Arsene the competition in the Premier League is so much fiercer now and to win the title is a massive demand."
Allardyce is also in the firing line. Palace were badly beaten by Southampton on Wedneday after achieving their best result of the season four days earlier, a 2-1 win at League leaders Chelsea.
"We still have a great chance of surviving, but its tough - particularly mentally," he said.
"The pressure builds when you get into single-figure games and its those who are able to cope and deliver that we're looking for now."
