Carlisle manager Keith Curle is looking for his squad to play for their futures over the remaining two games but will be keeping one eye on other results as the Cumbrians remain on the fringes of the play-offs.
Nicky Adams - who was named in the PFA team of the year for League Two - will be in contention to face Newport having been an unused substitute in the 3-3 draw with Crawley.
The winger, who made it off the bench in the previous game against Stevenage, continues his comeback from a hamstring injury.
Jason Kennedy and Tom Miller have also been absent recently because of injury.
Newport defender Scot Bennett could return as the Exiles seek to secure their English Football League status.
Bennett hopes to shrug off a hamstring strain to play, but midfielder Mitch Rose is again ruled out with a knee problem.
Defender Jamie Turley played for the reserves in midweek after seven months out with a knee injury but is not ready to feature.
Striker Lenell John-Lewis and midfielder Ben Tozer remain sidelined.
