Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that Atletico Madrid have been chasing Alexandre Lacazette for the last two years.
It was reported this week that Lacazette is eager to sign for the Rojiblancos ahead of next season, but Aulas has stated that it will take a big offer for Lyon to sell their star striker.
Lacazette has scored 24 goals in Ligue 1 this campaign, and is due to have a discussion with Aulas regarding his future. The 26-year-old's contract with Lyon expires in 2019.
"We've been talking to Atletico Madrid about Alexandre Lacazette for two years," Aulas told RMC.
"Perhaps Alexandre would like to stay. We haven't spoken about it directly. I'll see him (on Friday), and we'll know more after that."
"Atletico aren't the only ones to have made offers or shown an interest in Lacazette," he added. "We turned down €40m two years ago. We're going to do everything to keep him. It'll take very high offers to take Alexandre away from us."
