Wycombe Wanderers 1 - 0 Cambridge United: Scott Kashket strike not enough to put Wycombe in the play-offs

Scott Kashket secured Wycombe a 1-0 win over Cambridge but it was not enough to earn the hosts a place in the League Two play-offs.
Kashket missed an open goal in the second minute but made amends by scoring the only goal of the game after 65 minutes.
Both sides needed a win and favourable results elsewhere but Cambridge never showed enough going forward as Wycombe missed out on the play-offs by a point with Blackpool taking the final place.
Kashket should have scored when he stole the ball from Leon Legge, chipped goalkeeper Will Norris only to volley the ball wide of the empty net from five yards. He then blasted an effort inches past the left post just before half-time.
But his header from Adebayo Akinfenwa's knockdown broke the deadlock and turned out to be the game-winner.
Cambridge's Ben Williamson forced a point-blank save from Jamal Blackman in the 90th minute while in the dying seconds Legge had an effort cleared off the line by Michael Harriman.
