Nemanja Matic to Man Utd: Chelsea star wants transfer deal and Jose Mourinho reunion
CHELSEA star Nemanja Matic wants to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, according to reports.

Manchester United have been linked with Matic despite the Serbia international inspiring Antonio Conte's side to the Premier League title.

Manager Mourinho is determined to add a midfielder to his squad to coax the best out of Paul Pogba.

The France international endured a tricky first season back at Old Trafford after joining from Juventus for a world-record £89million transfer fee.

United have been heavily linked with a move for Tottenham's Eric Dier - though their rocky relationship with Spurs chief Daniel Levy could make a deal problematic.

As a result, Matic is on their radar, with reports last month claiming United are determined to snap him up.

And The Sun say that the 28-year-old wants to move to Old Trafford, fearing he has played his last game at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder reportedly is concerned that Blues boss Conte is ready to offload him and has consequently prioritised a reunion with Mourinho.

The Portuguese signed Matic for Chelsea in January 2014 and the duo helped mastermind a title triumph the following year.

However, their relationship was strained in the months building up to Mourinho's sacking in December 2015, with the 54-year-old hooking Matic after just 28 minutes on the pitch during a league game with Southampton.

The player admitted in the aftermath that the incident had left him feeling 'terrible.'

"I felt terrible to be subbed, to be honest,” he admitted.

"Normally some of the players react to that and cause some problems but as you can see I didn’t react and showed respect for the coach and for the club and my team. It was very hard. You have to play and see how it feels.

"I knew I did the right thing when I sat on the bench. I knew I did the right thing and I am proud that I didn’t react.”

It promises to be a busy summer for United, who have already sealed a deal for Benfica's Victor Lindelof.

And they are also being linked with moves for Real Madrid duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are also planning to add to their squad despite taking the league by storm last term.

One player that could arrive is Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko, with the player likely to leave despite helping Leonardo Jardim's side dethrone Paris Saint-Germain as Ligue 1 champions.
