Valere Germain will complete a transfer from Monaco to Marseille next week.
The striker joined Monaco as an academy prospect in 2005, eventually breaking into the first-team and winning the Ligue 2 title in 2012/13.
Last season, he helped Leonardo Jardim's men to Ligue 1 glory, playing in one of European football's most exciting teams.
Only two teammates made more league appearances than Germain (36) during that title triumph, netting 10 goals and assisting a further three.
The 27-year-old scored a further five times across cup competitions, taking his season tally to 15, though he remained one of the lesser lights in the Monaco squad.
Now, he is on the verge of a return to his hometown of Marseille, where he will sign for a club his father, Bruno, also represented.
As confirmed by Marseille's official website, the uncapped Frenchman will sign a four-year contract on Monday.
Germain, who has already passed a medical, could potentially replace Bafetimbi Gomis in the starting XI, with the Swansea City loanee yet to make a decision over his future after spending 2016/17 at the Velodrome.
