Zidane and Florentino Perez to hold key talks ahead of United States tour

Monday morning will see Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez reconvene in Madrid to hold their first meeting of the new season, at which time the coach is to officially sign his new contract.

With the terms laid out and agreed upon a number of weeks ago, the Frenchman's presence at Real Madrid would then be nailed odwn until June 2020.

The last time the pair spoke in person was following the glory of the Champions League being successfully defended in Cardiff and the scenes at Cibeles that followed, and as he stated to MARCA recently, club president Perez wants to win the title for a third year in a row.

The 70-year-old will personally greet the players when they return to training at Valdebebas and wants to turn his attention to reviewing the state of the squad after securing his own unopposed re-election to office.

Zidane, meanwhile, has enjoyed time off in Greece, Italy and the Balearic Islands over the summer and his calm has only been occasionally punctured by the Cristiano Ronaldo saga and the difficulties in negotiating the purchase of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.

Indeed, the coach has already called up his star man, Ronaldo, to assure him that he's incredibly important to his plans going forward as Real look to conquer the world once again in 2017/18.
