BORUSSIA DORTMUND are ready to make a move for Arsenal star Olivier Giroud with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to join Chelsea, according to reports.

The German giants face the prospect of losing the Gabon international this summer with Chelsea keen on signing him.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is desperate to land a striker having missed out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.

The Daily Mirror claim Aubameyang is likely to join the Blues, leaving the German giants in need of a new forward to lead their line.

And out-of-favour Arsenal striker Giroud is the man that tops their wishlist.

The 30-year-old has already been attracting interest from the likes of Everton, West Ham, Marseille and AC Milan with his future uncertain.

Alexandre Lacazette's £52m arrival has only pushed Giroud further down the pecking order and his latest comments from their pre-season tour in Sydney suggest he is already thinking about leaving.

"It (leaving) is an option to be honest with you," Giroud said.

"I'm here in pre-season, I wanted to travel. Some people asked me if I am going to travel or not. I am an Arsenal player and for the moment I am here. I just want to prepare well for the season and we will see later.

"But it is true that I really enjoyed my five years with Arsenal. I try to be professional. No matter what happens, I did my job on the pitch.

"I had an amazing welcome from the fans and from the club and it has been five amazing years for me.

"I won't forget it, no matter what happens. We will see about my future."

Giroud managed to find the net 12 times in the league last season and will need to be firing on all cylinders next term in the Bundesliga if he opts to join Dortmund and fill Aubameyang's boots.

Aubameyang netted an incredible 31 Bundesliga goals as Dortmund finished third, 18 points behind champions Bayern Munich.
