Danilo bids farewell

Although Zinedine Zidane said that he wanted to keep the same team as last year, the reality of football is that some of his players, Danilo being one, are bidding farewell and heading for pastures new during Real Madrid's pre-season.

On Wednesday, it was Alvaro Morata who left Real's training camp in Los Angeles, and on Friday, the right-back said goodbye to his teammates.

Real and Manchester City made the move official, the Brazilian signing on at the Etihad Stadium for the next five seasons.

After a conversation with Guardiola, Danilo opted for the proposal of the sky blue club, which also offers him five million euros net per season.

It's a transfer operation that, as in the case of Morata, satisfies the three parties involved.

Zidane was not so happy because he wanted to keep him, although he had long known the wishes of the player, who has not been able to dislodge Dani Carvajal.

Danilo isn't leaving for an economic reason, but purely because he is looking to play more minutes in a World Cup year.

Not having the confidence of those in charge at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu was enough for him to consider taking his services elsewhere.

No replacement

Despite his departure, Madrid will not sign another right back.

The club believe that this position is well covered with Carvajal, Nacho and Lucas Vazquez.

Nor is it ruled out that even, if necessary, in an emergency, Theo could play there if needed.
