Sergi Roberto: I want to continue being an important player

Barcelona utility man Sergi Roberto has uncertain future at the club but he says he is ready to fight for his place after getting their second in a 2-0 victory over Real Betis on Sunday.
"I am happy as I was in Madrid (against Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana) on a personal level. I felt confortable and I played in my normal position," said Sergi Roberto, who started in midfield but has often been played as a make-shift right back.
"We knew that Betis would want to come out and play from the back but we were able to rob a lot of balls high up the pitch and get two goals."
Despite interest from other top European clubs he says he has no intention to leave.
"I started at the Bernabeu, the coach gives me confidence and I scored and I want to continue being an important player," he said.
"During the pre-season I did not start much but now in the official matches I am playing more."
Like his teammates he said he wanted to offer the result as a tribute to those affected by the terrorism atrocities in Catalonia last Thursday.
"We want to dedicate this victory to the victims of the attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils," he added.
