Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck faces another lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a suspected groin injury against Chelsea.

The 26-year-old England international limped off before the 75th minute mark as the Gunners would go on to register a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.

Since joining from boyhood club Manchester United he's endured a string of injuries and manager Arsene Wenger is now waiting for the result of his scan.

Welbeck's injury troubles at Arsenal

This marks the sixth different injury picked up by Welbeck whilst representing the north London outfit.

In total Welbeck has missed 72 matches, totalling 562 days, with his return to action being regarded as one of the successes this season.

Before this weekend's visit of West Brom the Manchester-born footballer is one of eight players to heave featured in each of Arsenal's opening five league fixtures.

He's contributed with three goals and one assist bringing his overall tally for the 13-time English champions to 13 goals and 10 assists in 57 league matches.
