LEICESTER'S Jamie Vardy is back from injury and ready to maintain his superb record against Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp's side have conceded 10 goals in their last four games and were beaten 2-0 at Leicester in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Vardy missed that match with a groin injury but he is back against the side he simply loves to score against – with five goals in his last three league outings against them.

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare said yesterday: "Jamie trained this morning and hopefully there's no reaction. He's ready to be involved. We've had to take it a bit easy with him for the first part of the week but he was really keen to get back out there.

"Is he a bogeyman? I am hoping so. Sometimes strikers will have good memories of playing against certain teams. Centre forwards go through these purple patches and everybody would like one who can get you 20 goals a season."

Daniel Sturridge has been told by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp that he still has a big future at Anfield after all his injury troubles.

Sturridge and Luis Suarez were the club's prolific attacking partnership when they almost won the Premier League under Brendan Rodgers four seasons ago.

But while Suarez moved on to Barcelona and thrived, the England international has suffered a series of major injury setbacks since then, while Klopp has strengthened Liverpool's forward line considerably.

Paris St-Germain and West Ham were both linked with moves for Sturridge – but Klopp is adamant that he never had any intention of selling.

He said: "We did talk and it was good. It was not a talk with him saying 'When can I go?' Or 'Where can I go?' It was not that talk but about what we planned for this season.

"It is not a case of saying that he could be important. He is important."

The trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane appears to be Klopp's first-choice forward line this season, although the latter's suspension gave Sturridge the chance to lead the attack for last Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Burnley.
