Cambridge back to winning ways

Cambridge held on to beat Yeovil 2-1 and record their first win in four Sky Bet League Two games.

First-half strikes from Uche Ikpeazu and George Maris ensured Cambridge returned to winning ways in front of their own fans.

The U's survived a scare in the first minute, with David Forde saving well from Rhys Browne, but they dominated the first half from the moment they went ahead.

Jevani Brown split the visiting defence with a fine through ball, allowing Ikpeazu to run through and round Artur Krysiak before netting in the 20th minute.

Maris made it 2-0 six minutes later, heading home unchallenged from close range after being picked out by a superb Brad Halliday cross.

The Glovers halved the deficit on the hour with a rare attack, Bevis Mugabi planting a header into the bottom corner following a pinpoint Ryan Dickson cross.

Maris almost repeated his earlier feat with another header from a right-wing centre which went wide, before Brown's flick was stopped on the line by Krysiak.

In the last minute, Otis Khan was denied an equaliser when his shot was cleared from under the bar by Jabo Ibehre.
