Ten-man Raith Rovers saw their lead at the top of the table reduced to goal difference following a 1-1 draw against bottom side Forfar on a day where six players saw red in Ladbrokes League One.

John Herron fired the leaders ahead just before the hour mark at Station Park but they lost Iain Davidson to a straight red card after 72 minutes and Mark Millar struck back with the resulting penalty a minute later.

Ayr remain second thanks to a 2-0 victory over nine-man Stranraer after Michael Moffat broke the deadlock in the 66th minute at Somerset Park and Lawrence Shankland made it two late on.

The visitors saw Scott Robertson sent off for violent conduct with 15 minutes remaining and team-mate Steven Bell saw red at the death for serious foul play.

East Fife were also reduced to 10 men as they recorded a 3-1 comeback win at home to Arbroath to move up to third.

Former East Fife striker Bobby Linn picked out the bottom corner with a close-range effort after 16 minutes to put his old side behind.

However, Chris Duggan equalised for the hosts just before the hour mark before completing his brace as he and Mark Lamont struck in quick succession midway through the second half.

The home side saw Kyle Wilkie dismissed for serious foul play after 68 minutes to sour their result.

Airdrieonians were twice pegged back as they claimed a 2-2 draw against nine-man Albion Rovers, who dropped down a spot to fifth.

David Brownlie was well-placed to tap Tom Fry's corner home midway through the first half but Alan Trouten equalised for the visitors eight minutes before the break.

The home side struck back through Scott Stewart to take a narrow lead into the break, while Albion were reduced to 10 men 10 minutes into the second half when Jason Marr received a second yellow card.

Gary Fisher scored a second leveller after 65 minutes with a powerful effort, but Albion also lost Scott McLaughlin to a red card at the death as they held on in the final exchanges for a point.

Elsewhere, Paul Crossan, Craig Malcolm, Andy Graham and Daryll Meggatt were all on target as Alloa clinched a comfortable 4-0 victory at Queen's Park.
