Blackburn Rovers vs Barnet - Blackburn without banned duo for Barnet tie

Posted Friday, November 03, 2017 by PA

Blackburn will be without banned duo Richie Smallwood and Dominic Samuel against Barnet, but Elliott Bennett will return for the FA Cup clash.

Midfielder Smallwood has collected five yellow cards and will therefore serve a one-match ban while striker Samuel will sit out the final match of his three-game ban following his dismissal against Portsmouth.

Bennett is available again having served a one-game suspension but Craig Conway, Harry Chapman (both hamstring) and Darragh Lenihan (foot) are all out injured.

Back-up goalkeeper Jason Leutwiler is set to make his debut as manager Tony Mowbray considers changes to his team.

Barnet could have top scorer Shaq Coulthirst back for the trip to Ewood Park.

The forward has returned to training after missing last weekend's 4-1 defeat at Accrington due to a knock.

Goalkeeper Jamie Stephens (knee), midfielder Curtis Weston (knee) and striker John Akinde (hamstring) are continuing their recoveries but are unlikely to feature against Rovers.

Defenders Richard Brindley (foot) and Elliott Johnson (knee) and forward Dave Tarpey (knee) remain sidelined.
