Carlisle hammer 10-man Yeovil

Carlisle cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory against 10-man Yeovil to register their first home Sky Bet League Two win since August.

Danny Grainger struck twice as the hosts extended their unbeaten league run to five games.

Carlisle were dominant in the first period and opened the scoring after eight minutes. Grainger found space before lashing home his fifth goal of the season from almost 30 yards.

Previously in-form Yeovil struggled to make an impact and it was no surprise when the hosts went two up just before the interval.

This time Hallam Hope slotted home from close range as he met Shaun Miller's low cross.

The Cumbrians were on top at the start of the second half. Richard Bennett fired narrowly wide from a tight angle and Hope almost doubled his tally when his angled drive flew past the far post.

Carlisle extended their lead from the penalty spot with 15 minutes left.

Luke Joyce was initially fouled by Jordan Green, though Yeovil's Bevis Mugabi was sent off at the end of the fracas that followed, and Grainger eventually netted from the spot.

Miller wrapped up a big win in added time when he converted Bennett's cross.
