Man City coach Pep Guardiola reveals future plans with Sergio Aguero
Sergio Aguero will face Burnley for Man City

PEP GUARDIOLA admits he will have to wrap Sergio Augero in cotton wool as Manchester City open their bid for honours on a fourth front today.

With Gabriel Jesus out for up to two months and City set to leave a move for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez to the summer, Aguero is the only fit senior striker Guardiola has as his team face up to seven more fixtures in three competitions this month.

Today's FA Cup tie against Burnley is followed on Tuesday by the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Bristol City before the Premier League visit to Liverpool next Sunday and Guardiola admits Aguero cannot play in all three games.

He said: "Sergio is on fire in this period but we are going to speak with him every day, before and after games, about how he feels.

"When you play every three or four days, some games you are going to play and some minutes you are going to rest.

"So we hope we can handle it until the end because we need his goals. We need both Sergio and Gabriel but now we have only one of them for maybe two two months."

Burnley manager Sean Dyche stoked the debate about the FA Cup losing its magic but is still dreaming of an upset.

Burnley will be backed by 7,600 fans at the Etihad Stadium for their third-round tie on Saturday and Dyche believes most of them now accept the world's oldest knock-out competition plays second fiddle to the Premier League.

"There are a number of clubs, including ourselves, vying to stay in the Premier League, and that does take precedence," Dyche said.

"But I don't see it as a shame, just a reality.

"I love the cup but there has to be just a pure business plan of staying in the Premier League and growing the club.

"But on the other hand, are we going there trying to win? Of course we are. Absolutely. We'll be trying our best to win."
