Buddies pull further clear in race for Championship title

St Mirren extended their lead at the top of the Ladbrokes Championship with a 2-0 win at struggling Dumbarton.
After a goalless first half in which Lewis Morgan and Gavin Reilly both went close to giving the away side the lead, the Buddies went ahead when Cammy Smith headed home from Stelios Demetriou's cross two minutes after the break.
Captain Stephen McGinn then marked his 100th start for St Mirren by firing home a second after 58 minutes.
Stelios and Kyle Magennis both missed chances to further extend the visitors' lead, with Craig Smason's fine save denying Tom Walsh a late consolation.
The win sends St Mirren eight points clear of nearest challengers Dundee United after their goalless draw at Dunfermline.
