Livingston defeat struggling Dumbarton

Livingston moved into the top three of the Ladbrokes Championship after seeing off struggling Dumbarton 2-0 at a windswept Tony Macaroni Arena.
Alan Lithgow put the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute when he got on the end of Raffaele De Vita’s deep corner to thump home a header at the far post.
Livi doubled their lead just six minutes later when on-loan Rangers striker Ryan Hardie, making his full debut, netted his first goal for the club.
Hardie came within inches of notching his second soon after but saw his curling shot come back off the post.
The hosts had further chances to extend their lead with visiting goalkeeper Scott Gallagher denying Jordan Thompson and De Vita while Hardie fired just wide and Lee Miller hit the crossbar.
They could not add another goal but were worthy winners against a Dumbarton side who have now picked up only two points from their last seven matches.
