Sutton hang on to win despite Harry Beautyman’s red card

Ten-man Sutton consolidated their place in the Vanarama National League play-off places with a 1-0 victory at promotion rivals Dover.
Whites goalkeeper Mitch Walker had to be alert to deny Harry Beautyman just two minutes in and then pulled off another fine save to keep out Tommy Wright’s deflected shot.
Sutton got the goal their early play had deserved on 26 minutes when Kieron Cadogan brought down Wright’s cross and angled a shot in off the far post.
Giancarlo Gallifuoco was denied an immediate equaliser by Sutton stopper Jamie Butler, while at the other end Walker continued to keep the hosts in the game.
Dover had hope when Beautyman was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Connor Essam but they could not force an equaliser in the final half-hour as they dropped out of the top seven.
