Zinedine Zidane isn't at all worried about his future

All he wants is to feel supported

Real Madrid's disappointing domestic form had led many to believe that Zinedine Zidane's time in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu dugout was coming to an end, before their 3-1 victory against Paris Saint-Germain had some praying for him to stay.

The debate will surely rumble on, yet the person who seems to be the least interested in Zidane's future is the Frenchman himself.

He isn't at all concerned about what will happen, as all he wants right now is to feel as if the club and the dressing room have his back - which is currently the case, as Marcelo's Wednesday night celebration demonstrated.

A new contract was signed last summer, with the coach renewing until 2021, and there was no major drama over it.

He even had it there waiting for him for several months, before looking at it and signing it at the end of the 2016/17 season.

"He was the only footballer who never looked at the money in a contract," Florentino Perez has recalled on several occasions.

Sergio Ramos had his say on Zidane's future after the PSG match and suggested that the decision probably won't depend on results.

"Only Zidane knows what he'll do next season," the captain said.

"He might even win something and still leave."

What's likely to happen is that a time will come when Florentino Perez and Zidane discuss the subject and both will decide what's best for Real Madrid, but the coach isn't worried about that right now.

From the club's point of view, they're not hiding the fact that they need to have a possible replacement in mind in case Zidane walks, but their priority is on strengthening the squad.
