Managerless Cambridge win again

Managerless Cambridge won their third League Two fixture in a row by beating promotion-chasing Notts County 1-0.
Medy Elito scored the winner for United in the 30th minute to continue their fine form since the departure of manager Shaun Derry.
The U’s dominated the first half and took the lead when Jevani Brown’s shot took a deflection and ran through to Elito, who took a touch past goalkeeper Adam Collin before firing home.
Brown was involved again when he found Billy Waters, whose shot from the edge of the box was pushed wide by Collin, before Brad Halliday surged forward on the right and forced the goalkeeper into a save with his feet.
Moments before half-time Elito struck an ambitious effort from distance which went only narrowly wide, and immediately after the break Liam O’Neil headed over following Uche Ikpeazu’s cross from the by-line.
Brown continued to be central to everything Cambridge did going forward and he saw a shot deflected to Collin just after the hour.
Ikpeazu saw his effort tipped over in the final seconds but his side comfortably saw off the limited threat of the Magpies to secure three points.
