Rovers leave it late to topple Maidstone

Two goals in the last five minutes earned Tranmere a 3-2 win at Maidstone that moved them into the top three in the Vanarama National League.
Delano Sam-Yorke had already gone close for Maidstone when they opened the scoring in the 27th minute, Alex Finney forcing a Jai Reason free-kick over the line after a header had come back off the crossbar.
Tranmere levelled after 39 minutes when Andy Cook took advantage of some poor defending to tap home, but the home side were quickly back in front when Ross Lafayette scored from the penalty spot after Blair Turgott was brought down.
That was how it stayed until the last five minutes when a superb ball in from Jack Dunn was inadvertently turned past his own goalkeeper by Finney.
There was further drama when Connor Jennings was brought down in the box and Adam Buxton scored from the spot with two minutes left to snatch Rovers the win.
