Ipswich vs Hull City - Muzzy Carayol doubtful for Hull clash

Ipswich will check on winger Muzzy Carayol ahead of the Sky Bet Championship clash against Hull.

The Gambia international, who signed as a free agent during January, scored the only goal in the 1-0 win at Preston but was taken off at half-time having been laid low by illness ahead of the match.

Defender Tristan Nydam played for the under-23s in midweek to step up match fitness after his own recent illness, along with Myles Kenlock and midfielder Kevin Bru, so all may come into consideration.

Midfielder Tom Adeyemi (hamstring) continues his recovery but Republic of Ireland international David McGoldrick (groin) is set to miss the rest of the campaign. Goalkeeper Dean Gerken (hip), Emyr Huws and Andre Dozzell (both knee) are long-term absentees.

Hull boss Nigel Adkins could have a couple of players back in contention for the trip to Suffolk.

Defender Ondrej Mazuch should be available after a month out with a hamstring injury, while striker Abel Hernandez is closing in on a return after a six-month lay-off due to a ruptured Achilles.

Jon Toral will be assessed on a jaw problem the midfielder suffered in a clash of heads with Barnsley’s Adam Jackson during the midweek 1-1 draw.

Midfielders Markus Henriksen (ankle) and Harry Wilson (shoulder) have both done some training this week but it may still be too early for either to be involved.
