Crewe Alexandra vs Forest Green Rovers - George Ray set to make Gresty Road comeback
Posted Friday, March 02, 2018 by PA
Crewe captain George Ray could play a competitive game at Gresty Road for the first time this season when Forest Green visit.
Ray made his return from a long-term back injury as the Alex beat Lincoln 4-1 last weekend and he could feature once again.
Defender Jamie Sterry (illness) also returned against the Imps and is available to face Rovers.
Crewe, who are level on 36 points with Forest Green, will be hoping to record back-to-back wins for the first time since August.
Forest Green boss Mark Cooper has no new injury worries ahead of the trip.
Rovers’ preparations for the game were disrupted by the cold weather, with Thursday morning’s training session taking place at Cirencester Town’s indoor facility.
Three victories and a draw in February saw Cooper’s men pull six points clear of the relegation zone and they will be hoping to keep their unbeaten run going.
Defender Lee Collins came off the bench in the victory over Crawley last weekend and he is available to start should Cooper choose to make changes.
