Matty Smith scored twice as Dundee United came from behind to beat Queen of the South 3-1 and cement themselves in the Scottish Championship play-off places.
After several early efforts from Stephen Dobbie, Queens took the lead through Dominic Thomas in the 21st minute.
The lead lasted just four minutes before Thomas Mikkelsen’s shot on the turn went in off the crossbar and it remained 1-1 until half-time, with Dobbie lost to injury.
Smith gave United the lead early in the second half with a superb strike from outside the box into the top corner.
And he made it 3-1 before the hour mark with an instinctive finish when a corner found its way to his feet as United lifted themselves five points clear of their opponents in the table and up to third, ahead of Morton.
