Lewandowski pushes for Real Madrid move

Bayern Munich are set to have a fight on their hands this summer if they are to keep Robert Lewandowski, who is still keen on trading Bavaria for Real Madrid.

Out of contract in June 2021, the Polish international's exit relies on Die Roten coming to terms with his desire to leave and negotiating a fee with Los Blancos.

Confident that relations between the clubs is a positive one, evidenced by a smooth negotiation over James Rodriguez's loan last summer, Real have already reached an agreement in principle with Lewandowski's agent, Pini Zahavi, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The striker's hope is that he can make one last big move in his career and see out his best days at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, filling the No. 9 hole that has existed at Real for some time.

As such, his change of agent earlier in the year signified his intent and Zahavi's meeting with Madrid president Florentino Perez's right hand man, Jose Angel Sanchez, bolsters the chances of a deal.

All that is left is for Bayern to decide one way or the other, with general director Karl Heinz Rummenigge recently stating that he won't deny a move to any player who no longer wants to play for the club.

Whether that gesture, previously unseen in Munich, extends to top goalscorer Lewandowski remains to be seen.
