Bayern are already looking for a replacement for Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski is very clear that he wants to move to Real Madrid, and now Bayern Munich are actively looking for his replacement.

The striker has told Karl Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern's general director, that he will do everything possible to fulfill his wish.

It's a situation that has backed the leaders of the Bundesliga into a corner.

So much so, that they are looking to fill the always-complicated centre-forward position as soon as possible.

Timo Werner is the main favourite, but Bayern are thinking big and won't rule out that, hand in hand with the possible arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, Harry Kane will arrive.

As MARCA have been reporting in recent weeks, the striker believes that his time at Bayern is nearing completion and his goal and desire is to wear a Real Madrid shirt.

He has no doubt in that aspect, although he understands the difficulty of a transfer operation that will not be easy to complete at all.

Maximum sincerity

Lewandowski wanted to be honest with Bayern officials by exposing a situation that he knows is not easy to digest on their part.

From Munich, the news leaked that Bayern aren't willing to let him leave and expect him to honour his contract until June 30, 2021.

The reality says that they already know that the situation needs to be resolved quickly.

Real, for their part, don't want any problems with the leaders of the Bavarian club and have been in contact with them to deny any agreement with Lewandowski's new agent (Pini Zahavi).

In fact, the change of representative has one sole aim; To ensure the Polish striker signs for Real Madrid.

Intermediary

Zahavi maintains excellent relationships with various clubs and he's more considered as an intermediary than someone achieving transfer operations with a complicated resolution.

Lately, he was very close to Abramovich's Chelsea.

Relations between Bayern and Real have improved after experiencing tense moments following the quarter-final tie in the last Champions League.

The departure of James to Munich served to build bridges and to lay the foundations of a negotiation that until then seemed impossible.

Now, history repeats itself and it will be the leaders of Real Madrid who have to take the step forward.

Better late than never, Lewandowski will likely be unveiled little more than a month after his 30th birthday.
