Craig Barr scored twice as Dumbarton dented Dundee United’s play-off hopes with a 3-2 win which boosted the home side’s Ladbrokes Championship survival chances.
Dumbarton took the lead after 12 minutes when Andy Stirling’s ball to the far post was helped back across goal by Tom Walsh and scrambled in by Callum Gallagher.
The visitors were level three minutes into the second half when Anthony Ralston headed in at the back post.
Dumbarton were back in front just before the hour through Barr’s downward header only for Scott McDonald to tap in at the far post with 20 minutes to go to level it at 2-2.
Barr added his second with 10 minutes remaining when he headed home to seal the points.
