ARSENAL stars Jack Wilshere, Sead Kolasinac and Calum Chambers decided to take their Gunn dogs out for a run following the win over Southampton.

The three Gunners, all in full kit, took on Cooper Tire Europe's dog agility course to see who would come out as top... dog.

Tails were wagging after the Gunners saw off a resolute Southampton 3-2 on Saturday, but now the players had a very different test ahead.

Kolasinac was partnered with Battersea dog 'Woody', Chambers with rescue dog 'Buddy' and Wilshere, Arsenal's very own midfield terrier, teamed up with the aptly named cross-breed 'Cheeky'.

Each player was challenged to lead their respective dogs around a custom-built dog agility course, with obstacles made from Cooper Zeon 4XS Sport tyres.

The challenge finished with three attempts to kick a ball through a tyre hanging from the crossbar – with the clock stopping if the ball went through the tyre or after three unsuccessful attempts.

First up to test the course was midfielder Wilshere, who was counted down from three by his expectant team-mates.

Cheeky jumped through the tyres beautifully, but then came a cropper when circling back round tyres after a jump.

Wilshere was urged to "control him" from an exuberant Chambers watching on before he was told he was "breaking the course".

Easier said than done however, as we all know how Wilshere sometimes struggles to control himself on the pitch, never mind a bundle of fluff.

Wilshere and Cheeky struggled home in a time of 36.52 seconds, with the England man missing his three attempts at kicking through the tyre.

Next up was Bosnian left-back Kolasinac.

He seemed to get around the course with relative ease with Woody, but like Wilshere, his aim was off when it came to doing his best for the team.

They finished in a time of 30.87secs.

Former Southampton centre-half Chambers was the last to go, but showed no signs of nerves around the circuit.

Wilshere clapped some encouragement from the sidelines, but it was hardly needed for Chambers' dog Buddy, who whizzed around the course.

Again, it was a case of dog done good footballer done bad as Chambers' effort scoring through the tyre were woeful.

But they proved to be the winning pair, going round in 28.76secs, ensuring it was a ruff day on the course for Wilshere and Kolasinac.

All three players are self-confessed dog-lovers, although clearly being a trainer is a whole different ball game.
