Premier League fans have sent a petition to the Premier League asking if both West Ham and Stoke can be relegated after they played each other.

Sky Sport's Monday Night Football promised a mouthwatering relegation battle but all the viewers saw were two teams desperately short of Premier League quality.

Now fans are demanding that both teams play in the Championship next season to save anyone else having to watch them face each other again.

Immediately after the half-time whistle a petition on Change.org sprung up asking that the Premier League does everyone a favour and makes a double relegation to ensure the fans don't see such boring football next season.

Petition creator Lee Satchell said he had has enough of watching the tripe served up by both teams and said he would rather knock his head against a wall than have to sit through another minute of West Ham v Stoke.

It would be an unprecedented move by the Premier League but with the reaction of pure boredom on Twitter and Satchell's petition their hand could be forced.

"I actually had to pay to go into the London Stadium and watch that game, I feel like I have been robbed by both teams," said Satchell.

"Even with Marco Arnautovic on the pitch it was one of the most uneventful halves I have ever witnessed, I am sure you get more entertaining games down your park on a Sunday afternoon.

"I could hear David Moyes saying he will take this all day if it means West Ham won't go down. If these two aren't relegated I am going to watch cricket instead of this fixture because it will be more entertaining."

Satchell added that he was inspired to start the petition after hearing a collective groan ringing in his ears for 45 minutes.

"There wasn't one person in the ground that enjoyed that match, neither team got close during the first half and I would have seen better football if I had gone to 5-a-side tonight.

"I'm begging the Premier League to put us all out of our misery and relegate both of these sides for the good of the game."
