Doncaster without injured midfielder Tommy Rowe for visit of Blackburn

Doncaster midfielder Tommy Rowe is out of Tuesday night’s League One clash with promotion-chasing Blackburn as he faces up to four months on the sidelines.

Rowe missed Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat by Oxford and has undergone surgery to repair a hamstring tendon, and it is not yet clear if he will be fit for the start of next season.

Manager Darren Ferguson could shuffle his squad once again after making five changes at the weekend, when Andy Boyle, Jordan Houghton, Rowe, James Coppinger and Alfie Beestin made way.

Mathieu Baudry, Craig Alcock, Luke McCullough, Rodney Kongolo and and Alfie May got the nod, and Ferguson could use the depth of his squad once again as they club tackle a fourth game inside 11 days.

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray has no fresh injury concerns as he looks to guide the club back into the Sky Bet Championship.

Midfielder Corry Evans was able to take his place in the starting line-up for Thursday night’s 3-1 victory over Peterborough, after limping off at Bristol Rovers five days earlier, and got through the 90 minutes unscathed.

Only defender Ryan Nyambe is still missing as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury.

Rovers will be promoted if they win, and will go up even if they do not as long as they match whatever third-placed Shrewsbury manage at home to Peterborough.
