Royal Wedding fever has swept the nation since the pair tied the knot on Saturday and now the Three Lions' very own King Harry wants Gareth Southgate's side to carry on the feelgood factor right through the summer.

And England's newly-appointed World Cup skipper insists they're in it to win it.

Kane, who was told by Southgate back in March that he'd be captain in Russia next month, is adamant he can end 52 years of hurt by leading England to glory.

The Spurs striker, who has scored in all four games he has worn the armband in, admits he was inspired by Saturday's Royal Wedding.

"I was in the Bahamas with my fiancée and got up at about 6.30 am to watch it," the fiercely patriotic 24-year-old said.

"What a special day! What a thing to be part of.

"To see the royal family, the wedding and a former England captain there. David Beckham was a big hero of mine growing up.

"The way the whole nation comes together at one time and supports them. That's amazing."

And Kane admits that in the weeks since Southgate broke the news to him, he's dreamed of becoming England's first World Cup winning captain since Bobby Moore in 1966.

"Of course, you think about it," added Kane, who received a congratulatory text from his main rival for the role, Jordan Henderson, who's preparing for Liverpool's Champions League final in Kiev.

"It's impossible not to dream about it. It's the World Cup, the biggest competition in the world," Kane added.

"And I believe we can win it. Anyone can. I can't say we're not going to win it because we could.

"I want to win everything I do. It's my mindset.

"Maybe (in the past) we've been afraid to say we want to win stuff because of the reaction and we go into our shells.

"But I don't want us to be afraid. We have to be brave. Whether we go out in the group stage or the semi-finals, it's the same. You don't win the World Cup.

"It'll be a tough job and there are some really good teams but it's worth fighting for and giving everything we've got."

Southgate's inexperienced squad are not among the favourites and while the pressure will crank up as the tournament approaches, England are not burdened by the weight of an expectant nation.

"We've had some really good teams in the recent past and it's not gone well in major tournaments," said Kane.

"It's been over 50 years now so no matter how good they've been, we've not been good enough.

"We've got nothing to lose. We have to go there, be free and, enjoy it."
