Mohamed Salah to Barcelona: Liverpool star's agent reveals truth behind transfer rumours
Mohamed Salah will not be joining Barcelona, according to his agent

MOHAMED SALAH'S agent has issued a dismissive reponse to reports the Liverpool star had been offered to Barcelona.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Salah representatives have had several meetings with Barcelona.

But in news that will delight Liverpool fans, Salah's agent Ramy Abbas Issa has tweeted: "This never happened.

"@English_AS you need better sources."

Salah had an incredible debut season at Liverpool with 42 goals in all competitions and his performances have caught the eye of Europe's elite clubs.

Barcelona are in the market for a new attacking player to join Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

But Salah was not understood to be one of their targets.

Liverpool would be extremely reluctant to do business with Barcelona having sold Philippe Coutinho to them in January.

But the report by AS claimed Liverpool will demand more than €100m (£88m) for Salah.

The Champions League finalists want to sign Lyon's Nabil Fekir and it is said they would consider selling Salah if they complete a deal for the France ace.

Salah's focus will now be on regaining fitness in time to play for Egypt in the World Cup.

The 25-year-old sustained a shoulder injury in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid after an incident with Sergio Ramos.

And Salah's Egypt boss Hector Cuper has blasted Ramos after the defender claimed the Liverpool ace should have taken an injection to ease the pain.

"I'm not a doctor, I don't know if [Sergio] Ramos is a doctor, but it's a player who is playing a final and has an injury," said Cuper.

"I don't have any doubt that if he could keep playing he would do it, because a Champions League final is extraordinary.

"My opinion is that Salah has an important injury, there is a recovering [process] that we can see, and we are optimistic about the chances he has to play in the World Cup.

"We listen to many things, but the reality is that the doctors recover or confirm a problem in a player."
