Plenty for Neil McCann to smile about after big win

Boss Neil McCann could hardly have been more satisfied after Dundee began their Betfred Cup campaign with a convincing 4-0 win over League Two side Stirling Albion at Forthbank.
Sofien Moussa grabbed a double, one either side of the break, to put the Ladbrokes Premiership men into a commanding position in the opening Group D encounter before the Tunisian striker set up debutant Jean Mendy for a third.
Craig Wighton grabbed a fine fourth as the Taysiders side ran out comfortable winners with McCann giving competitive debuts to Jack Hamilton, Elton Ngwatala, Nathan Ralph, Mendy and Kharl Madianga.
The Dens Park manager said: “I am delighted. First of all you want to win the game and afterwards you want to put on a wee bit of a show and score some goals so I am pleased that we did that.
“Stirling made it really difficult at times and indeed it took a brilliant stop from Jack Hamilton at 1-0, and we got a wee bit of a jolt and away we went.
“I am really pleased. Clean sheet, four goals and the front three scoring, so delighted.”
Stirling boss Dave Mackay said: “The final half-hour was difficult but for an hour we more than matched them.
“We are four divisions apart but the gulf didn’t look like that at times.”
