Juventus move in on Theo Hernandez loan switch

Where Theo Hernandez plays his football next season could receive a definitive answer in the coming days as Juventus and Real Sociedad enquire about a move for the left-back.

Acting as cover for Marcelo in his first year at Real Madrid, Hernandez has struggled to reach the heights desired of him and, given the Brazilian's tendency to be struck by muscle injuries, the club are considering shuffling their pack.

First that would mean sending Theo out to get regular game time. Any move that doesn't deliver that won't be contemplated given that Real are intent on getting something out of a player they broke a non-aggression pact with Atletico Madrid to sign.

Still only 20, there is time for the defender and a number of Champions League teams have contacted Madrid over a switch, with Los Blancos ready to consider a loan deal or a permanent sale with a repurchase option.

Over the coming days, club officials will meet with Theo and his agent, Manolo Garcia Quilon, to decide on his future with staying at the club in his current role not ruled out.

However there is one offer that is gaining serious traction, from Juventus. The Italian club fear losing Alex Sandro to Manchester United or Chelsea in the final weeks of the market and are seeking a new left-back in that eventuality.

With the Old Lady offering a high calibre of coaching and the chance of title glory, it is an attractive option for Hernandez to consider.

La Real Lurking

Should Theo end up preferring a move closer to home, the prospect of Real Sociedad draws into view.

The San Sebastian outfit can offer consistent game time and their president, Jokin Aperribay, holds a good relationship with Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez.

After Adrian Odriozola moved between the two teams for a fee that surpassed his release clause, this could be another deal done on favourable terms to ensure Hernandez returns to his development path.
