Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino saves two babies lives with an incredible donation

Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino saves two babies

Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino is a hero.

This week a story has broken in Brazil revealing how Firmino has come to the aid of two babies who needed urgent medical treatment.

It’s been confirmed that the Liverpool striker, together with his wife Larissa Pereira, donated €65,000 pay the medical bills for a couple of baby brothers.

The brothers, João and Miguel, suffer from spinal muscular atrophy. They require treatment and medicine that needs to be imported from America.

The family have raised awareness of their problems on social media, and it’s now been confirmed that Liverpool’s Firmino stepped in to pay the bills.

Firmino refuses to talk about it

According to Globo, the Liverpool striker is refusing to talk about his generosity.

Firmino was in action this week as Liverpool took on Torino in their final warm-up game.

After the match two journalists reportedly approached Firmino to ask him about his donation.

Firmino refused to talk about the issue.

Larissa Pereira talks to Globo

While the Liverpool striker has kept quiet, Larissa Pereira has spoken to Globo. She said:

We are moved by stories like this. We are also parents and imagine the pain that this family was going through.

Roberto is a sensational person, had this noble attitude and helped save two children.

The most beautiful thing is that he does it without wanting anything in return. It’s from the heart. May it inspire and touch other people.

There are many good people, who think about their neighbours and can help in some way.

It is a pity, and unacceptable, that our country does not provide these medicines, not pay for such treatments to save lives. Very sad.

I went to research and tried to read about Spinal Muscular Atrophy. I saw that Romario is fighting for the release of the drug. The process is already in the House to be approved. There’s a lot of kids affected by this.
