CRISTIANO RONALDO'S Juventus debut was abandoned with 20 minutes remaining as fans invaded the pitch and mobbed the star and his team-mates.

Ronaldo opened the scoring after just eight minutes as he latched on to a ball over the top of the defence and slotted home.

But as per the annual tradition in the game between Juventus A and Juventus B, the fans ran on to the pitch to meet their heroes and the game was subsequently stopped.

Juventus A led 4-0 at half-time thanks to CR7's opener, an own goal and two from Paulo Dybala before Claudio Marchisio added a fifth just after the break.

The game is held in the small town of Villar Perosa, 40km outside of Turin, where the Agnelli family own an estate and invite the players each year.

It has been going on since 1955 when remarkably, Juventus B pulled off a shock 3-2 win.

Last season, with the score locked at 0-0, the game was abandoned after 50 minutes due to the traditional flooding of the pitch.

Ronaldo enjoyed a summer break and therefore had not featured before today in the black and white of the Bianconeri since his £99million move from Real Madrid this summer.

The Portugal star claimed it was an "easy decision" for him to make the move away from the Bernabeu after nine years at the Spanish giants.

His first competitive game for his new club will be next Saturday as Massimiliano Allegri, who rejected the approach of Real Madrid this summer, takes his side to Chievo as they begin their quest for an eighth successive Serie A title.
