Crewe boss David Artell could welcome back some of his injured players for the Sky Bet League Two clash with MK Dons.
Forward Shaun Miller has returned to training and may be in contention after missing the first three matches of the season with a knee injury.
Alex have also been without defender George Ray (ribs) and striker Chris Porter (groin) for the past two fixtures.
Midfielder Paul Green missed the midweek Carabao Cup tie with Fleetwood due to a slight calf strain and Callum Ainley may continue to deputise.
Lawson D’Ath could be in contention for his MK Dons debut at Gresty Road.
The midfielder, signed from Luton in the summer, trained with the first team on Thursday as he attempts to regain fitness.
Osman Sow, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Sam Nombe remain unavailable to Dons manager Paul Tisdale.
Conor McGrandles (facial injury) and Peter Pawlett (ankle) are long-term absentees.
