MK Dons earn a point at Grimsby to remain unbeaten

Paul Tisdale maintained his unbeaten start as MK Dons boss after his side came from behind to draw 1-1 with 10-man Grimsby.
Jordan Cook had netted his second league goal of the season to put the Mariners ahead in the early stages before MK’s Robbie Simpson levelled early in the second half.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men when Paul Dixon was handed a straight red late on but the Dons couldn’t find a way through a resolute Grimsby defence and were forced to settle for a point.
Michael Jolley’s side took a deserved lead after 30 minutes when MK keeper Lee Nicholls could only palm Martyn Woolford’s strike into Cook’s path inside the six-yard box, before the Mariners’ striker tapped home.
Tisdale brought Simpson on at the half-time restart and it took the frontman less than a minute to net his first Dons goal after nodding home George Williams’ cross.
Dixon received a straight red card for his two-footed challenge on MK’s Jordan Moore-Taylor, but the hosts could not find a breakthrough.
