Newcastle vs Chelsea FC - Hayden banned as Chelsea visit Newcastle
Posted Friday, August 24, 2018 by PA
Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden is out of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Chelsea as he begins a three-match ban.
Hayden was sent off for a challenge on Josh Murphy after being introduced as a substitute in last Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Cardiff and will miss out, as will loan signing Kenedy, who is ineligible to play against his parent club.
Full-back DeAndre Yedlin is fit after missing the trip to Wales with a knee injury, but Javier Manquillo (calf) continues to be assessed and Florian Lejeune (knee) is a long-term absentee.
Eden Hazard is in line for his first start of the season for Chelsea.
The Belgium World Cup star has come on as a second-half substitute in both matches so far, but boss Maurizio Sarri says he is now ready to play around 60 minutes.
Midfielder Cesc Fabregas looks set to miss out again with a knee problem.
