But Pochettino insists he is relaxed about Tottenham’s current slump which has seen them crash to three straight defeats.

Spurs face a tricky clash at Brighton tomorrow, then tackle Watford in the Carabao Cup next Wednesday.

And boss Pochettino is well aware of how fragile a coach’s position is in the Premier League.

"You know what is going to happen when we don’t win games - the first (person) responsible is me,” he said.

"I am so relaxed. In football some things happen. I am going to give my best until the end.

"I am going to stick with the club, I am not going to criticise the club.

"All the decisions are our decisions and of course always with the club until the end - maybe (we are) still here in five years or maybe in one week we are not here, but always talking well about the club and helping them to achieve all they want.”

Spurs have lost 2-1 to Watford and Liverpool in the Premier League and Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Pochettino revealed a coaches position is never untenable

Four of the six goals conceded have come from set-pieces.

But Pochettino is worried that slating his players too much could make things even worse.

"It’s true we concede a lot,” he said.

"It’s something we talk a lot about but sometimes you talk a lot and then it happens again, it’s like you create a trauma.

"The way we concede the goals is so painful but it happens in football and we need to be strong. It’s so important to keep our belief.”

Dele Alli returned to training on Thursday

Dele Alli back is pushing for a return after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury,

But Pochettino reckons skipper Hugo Lloris could have picked up his thigh injury at Manchester United last month because he was stressed about his drink-drive case.

The France ace and World Cup winner was banned from driving for a year, but was still selected for Old Trafford while waiting for his day in court.

"I think he was under stress during the game,” said Pochettino. “I think the added stress maybe created that injury.”
