Aaron Ramsey's uncertain Arsenal future won't affect his performances, says Unai Emery

Unai Emery is confident Aaron Ramsey's performances will not suffer because of the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Talks between Ramsey and Arsenal over a new contract have broken down, according to Sky sources.

The Welshman is out of contract next summer and has been unable to agree terms over a fresh deal to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

The 27-year-old, who has featured in every league game under Emery, will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1 or leave Arsenal as a free agent in the summer.

Emery does not believe the midfielder's performances will suffer because of the speculation over his future and hinted he would be ready start the game.

"I think no [it won't change his performance]," he said.

"I want tomorrow the best preparation for him and his mentality and his quality. He will be ready to give us his best performance to help us to win."

When asked if he fears a repeat of the pro-longed contract sagas of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, the latter player now at Manchester United, Emery said he holds nothing against footballers who are protecting their own interests.

"We want the control for the the club, the players and for me. What I can control is tomorrow. I want to give the most stability I can," he added.

"In football, for many years, I have seen the same situation because for players the career is short. They are professional for 10-15 years, not more usually.

"The players need to take the best out these years for his future and his family.

"The best for us, for him and everyone is to take each match and do your best, to show every supporter their best quality."
