Neymar: I'm not going to whine for the rest of my life

Brazil were eliminated in the 2018 World Cup at the quarter-final stage, but Paris Saint-Germain'sNeymar has insisted that the team's failure won't make him mourn for ever.

The Selecao were among the tournament front-runners, but were knocked out after having been beaten 2-1 by Belgium.

"I did everything possible to be with Brazil at the World Cup," he told a press conference ahead of PSG's match against Red Star Belgrade.

"I gave my best, but I'm frustrated with this competition.

"I won't whine for the rest of my life, as I have more reasons to be happy than to be sad nowadays."

PSG are set to face Red Star in the upcoming Champions League group stage game and the Brazilian has talked about his preferred position on the pitch.

"I like playing as a No.10 because I can control the game and help my colleagues," he added.

"I didn't ask [to be put at] this position and the coach preferred to put me there.

"I play in the same way I played at Santos and Barcelona, creating chances and shooting too, but at the PSG I play in a bit of a different way, although I like touching the ball.

"I don't want any comparisons with Lionel Messi."

Neymar went on to talk about his talented teammate Kylian Mbappe.

"He is tough and I am very happy to develop by his side," he noted.

"He is a very offensive player who likes to win and when he doesn't win you feel it from his face after the game, it's something that may last a few days."

The match against Red Star kicks off at 18:55 CEST on Wednesday evening.
